sooo as advised by everybody on the board i poured in 2 bottles of seafoam, one in the gas, one in the oil, and just for good measure i poured one in the carburetor, now my car wont start.... lol JK, i did get some seafoam though. I couldn't figure out which vacuum line to pull, so i started pulling one at a time till i found one that had good vacuum at idel. i found one that was hooked to what im guessing is a solenoid that says pressure on it, that is on the firewall, and it seemed to have really good vacuum. it is T'd to another part and i tried to pull it off at the T, but it must have been old because the T broke in half, not really a problem, just have to go get another one, anyways i started the car and put the RPM's at about 2500 and put the hose in the can, the car wanted to die of course but i just kinda feathered it so it wouldn't die, put about an 1/8 of the can in, but got no smoke at all. Figured i must be doing something wrong or i am not suppose to use that hose. Anyways i pulled the top off the air cleaner and noticed the air filter was REALLY dirty. I decided to take it on a little drive to see if maybe it would start smoking a little. I left that little solenoid that said pressure on it un-done cause of the broken T, and left the top off the air filter with the air filter out. As soon as i got on the car it felt alive, more then it had ever before, and it pulls all the way to red line begging to go higher where as before it would give out at about 5000. Question is do u think it has something to do with the seafoam, the solenoid being un done, the air filter, or combination of all 3? and what am i doing wrong with the seafoam?

all 3. dirty engine, clogged filter, and an open line. The open vacuum line is probably leaning you out a little, and the car has finally got some air to breathe. see if it runs like a dog with the air cleaner assembled1993 GL 5 speed

seafoam has a web site with instruction's. an read the can. when you pour it down the carb or let it vaccum in then you shut it off for 5-10 minutes to let it work. then restart your engine.newport tn
