I've got this annoying squeaking sound coming from somewhere behind my dash, and my brother figures it's the speedo cable. He was watching it as I was driving, and the squeaking sound is consistent with the speedo needle jiggling. Is it hard to get the dash out and the cable off to drip some kind of lube down the cable? What type of lube should I use?

Speedo cable lube?

For the Festy - probably same for the Aspire - it's easiest to pull the speedo cable out of the transmission, pull the cable out of the sheath and lube it with white lithium as you put it back in. Reconnect to tranny and presto.
All that being said and done, mine still squeaks and bounces, so I think it is the drive gear in the cluster that is the problem on mine.
