  • How to detatch a side mirror?

    Hey guys
just need a little help removing my side mirrors, as you can see in the pictures they need a respray. Fortunately my paintwork is mint!
I have pulled the plastic off and undone the 3 screws from the inside, however they are stuck on! If anyone can give me the hot tip it would help me out a lot!
    Thanks

the 3 screws are all that hold them in......I would just get a firm grasp on them and pull outward while wiggling slightly up and down....the tabs that stick through can be a close fit sometimes.
Have you ever had them off? Maybe the person before you used some kind of sealer?

if you've un-done the screws its probably just stuck on with age. Try giving it a good yank.

Aside from the 3 screws the only other thing connecting them to the car is the electrical connector, but that you un-do once you've pulled the mirror away from the car abit.

By the way, welcome to the site!

Welcome to the site! Indeed just pull on 'em and they will come loose but they do tend to stick pretty good the first time.

Are those standard Festiva mirrors? They look like the cover up more of the door frame than mine do. If they aren't that might explain why they're being stubborn.
