  • Urgent - What Oil Type?

What viscocity oil should we be putting in a 1.3L Carb Festy ?

  • #2
Well I'm sure there are going to be other opinions on this but I use Mobil Delvac 15W40 in all of my vehicles including both Festivas all year long. Hope this helps.

I believe the recommended oil is 10-W30, although that could change depending on where you live...some folks run 5-30.

it was recommended in the owners manual for 10W40, but i've always used 10w30 and had no problems.

Haynes calls for 10 w 30 in warmer weather and 5 w 30 in cooler weather.

I used that oil in my Peterbuilt 550 cat engine when I had it.

Penz full synthetic 5 30... but thats on a fresh B6, and I get it for free!

530 or 1030 should be fine.

I was using rotella t 5w40 syn, and just switched to penz platinum 5w20 syn. Long as it aint leaking out (and it isnt), its all good. Maybe ill squeeze a lil more mpg out with it.

Only thing im worried about is we have sliders and not rollers. Supertech syn wiped out my tbirds slider valvetrain, supposedly.
