    Tranny Question!!! URGENT

    So i am doing the swap in my festiva.. and have a question that is kinda scaring me....

    will the tranny from an 88 Festiva (carbed) fit on a 92 Festiva (FI) it just seems that there are alot of different bolts in different places...

    PLEASE HELP!!!!

    Why would you be putting a 4speedin your 92? Was it an auto?

      both cars have 5 speed tranny's in them.

        If someone put a 5 speed from a Festiva in the 88 thanit should be out of a 90-93. If its not the same than its out of somthing else. Do youhave pics.
        88 carbed Festivas have4 speeds.

          yea ok so i am just dumb... or i know what i am talking about on my own car. anyone else help me out here.. will the 5 Speed Tranny from a 88 LX fit on a 92 L engine?

                  I have a 88 LX with the 5 speed also.

                  Plans are to install it in a 92 model.

                    ok well i guess that i will just continue on with the quest... and dean i will let you know how it goes... just a for warning... it is harder to get at all the bolts.. and we just had to take the whole exhaust off as well to get the tranny dropped...

                        I dont see anywhere in this post where it says the 88 is an LX. I guess I just assumed it wasnt. My bad, noone was calling you stuped.

                            all festiva 5 speeds are the same, and the 4 speeds (aside from the early 88 cali cars) are the same as the 5 speeds, just missing the 5th gear.
                            Trees aren't kind to me...

                            currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
                            94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.
