  • 89 auto efi ignition module mystery

ok here goes...car dies...turns over no start...fuel fine no spark...new distributor fm Festiva Motorsport $200...install...turns over no start...call FM and they say probably ignition module bad..."not in the distributor?" I ask...no...outside the dist....60 bucks...arrives...a little four-prong plug thing NOT like what I always thought the ig-mod looks like IN the dist...can't find it anywhere in the engine compartment.....

...is FM jerking me around or am I just a jerk?

Can you post a pic of what you got from FMS? Or link it to a pick from their site or anything to help out our fellow Festy Mechanics?

'89 the module is still inside the dizzy, auto efi or stick carb. You don't have the external module. External driver module started in '90. Most likely, the coil itself is bad, not the driver module.
