  • Are 145/12 tires ok to run on my Festiva

or should they be 155 or 165

145R12 were original equipment on all Festiva L's with 4" wide rims. The 165/70/12 came on the LX, GL and L Plus with 4.5" rims. No problem using 145R12 on a 4.5" rim. The 165 gives a slightly better ride.

        The Master has spoken. lol.
Seriously, can you actually find 145s? No one around here even deals with them now. 155s are everywhere, but no 145s.

Yes, Tire Rack must just recently received a new order of the yokohama P145-80-R12's because they currently have them in stock.
Two years ago, I waited 3 months for them to get them in before I finally ordered P155's.

How about going from 165/70/12s to 155/12s? I know the speedo will be slower and probably handling a little less but with a better than 3% increase in diameter will this create any braking problems?

^ no, braking won't be an issue...i am running 165/70/13's... see the sticky in the custom wheel and brake.. with slightly bigger tire, you're speedo will be a little slow, but mpg's go up.
