  • Car overheated, now won't start

Okay my radiator split.......car over heated, and I pulled over and it stalled, there was a pinging noise and loss of power before I pulled over. That is when I looked down and saw my temp gauge spiked.

I let the car cool down, added water, when I crank the engine I hear a gurgling noise and the antifreeze is dumping all over the ground. Its dark out but does anyone know other than a NOW blown head gasket why the car may not start?

Possibly fouled plugs from overheating? Does the fuel cut off switch possibly get tripped? The car still turns over and sounds like its getting no spark.....UGHHH

I have someone coming over tomorrow night that wanted to buy the car, it must have known I was trying to sell it!!!

If the headgasket blew there might not be any compression.

Maybe you split a hose or something and sprayed the distributor?
