My friend Suzy has a 92' and I posted here a while back but couldnt narrow down what she was talking about. But now she says she smells gas when the AC is going. I told her to stop running it. Anyone got any idea what could be causing that smell? Thanks, her health depends on you knowledgeable folks.

Thanks guys, so I saw that the common things you mention was the fuel filter and pump . the car seems to be pumping fuel just fine.so I changed the fuel filter and she said it worked! So my question would be why did that fix a smelly ac? The filter old filter didnt seem to be leaking or anyting so I just changed it anyway. Anyhow, 3 days later and so far so good. So what about the fuel pump? it seems to work fine but is it inside the fuel tank? Thanks dudes , you helped alot. She knows nothing about cars and I know enough to not mess up her car so Im glad to help her with some help here.Last edited by BrionF; 11-26-2008, 01:07 PM.

check the fuel canister purge solenoid mounted on the firewall next to the windshield wiper motor
it has a vacuum line from the intake manifold and from the canister-- under your master cylinder
