  • The ATX in my Aspire, is it electronically controlled?

Judging by the way it downshifts, I'm thinking that it is. If I'm crusing along at 40-45 mph on flat ground and I stomp the pedal to the floor, no downshift. However, if I'm going up a steep hill at the same speed and stomp it, it usually will downshift. Is this normal?

    normal.

    fully mech/hydro shifted

    no electronics

down shift is based on vacuum signal, not throttle position.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Lately I've actually been able to get it to downshift. I just have to floor the pedal, then press it a bit more and usually it'll downshift for me.
