see, that can't be a coincidence...maybe there is a problem with fuel puddling in the #3 intake runner, washing the walls and accelerating ring wear?

can't say for sure. I'll investigate as much as I can while rebuilding the 1.3

FWIW, I got my B6 for $275 with 82K miles on it. However, I'm not turning in my B3 so I won't get the core charge back = about $325.

A year ago when I checked, B6s were pretty common, but when I actually went "shopping" the past summer they were not common at all.

There seem to be practically NO '90s model 323s in the yards. I found ONE '91 to scrape parts off of.

I think that rebuilding a B3 would be a great project for someone, whether B6s are easy to get or not. You also don't have to deal with extra fabrication, parts matching, solving little odd problems with compatability, etc. (I've had to do this, but I have an ATX.)

I'm planning on tearing down my B3 and learning from it. Whether I put it back together or not is up in the air.

i tore down my spare b3 (siezed) and it's apiece of cake, had it apart in like 20 min. sincwe i'm concentrating on my cougar right now i think for now i'll rebuild the b3 just for kicks. it would be nice to have a fully rebuilt spare just in case.
