Thought I would chek my timing today and after warmed up I tried shorting the STI 1-pin connector and it sparked then the engine stalled - Has anyone ever had that happen to them? I just center the distributor and tightened down. Any ideas - ANYONE?

Well, decided I really need to check the timing on the Turquoise unit and low and behold.
I had the same thing happen to me!
Ground the STI connector and I see a small arc and the engine shuts down and will not start with the STI grounded!
I'll be looking up this in my manuals and see what I can find!'93 Blue 5spd 230K(down for clutch and overall maintanence)

OK, figured this out!
I'm just retarded!
Just grabed the first single wire connect I found.
The STI connector is a single wire black connector.
What you and I have been grounding out is the fuel pump test connector which is single wire(yellow with black stripe) with a connector that is natural in color but the same shape as the STI connector.
Just dig into the collection of wires near the Master Cylinder and find a Black connector like the one you have been grounding and you should be good!
My issue now is that with the STI connector grounded I find the timing mark is about 90° counter clockwise to were it should be!'93 Blue 5spd 230K(down for clutch and overall maintanence)
