Hey thanks Joe, hadnt thought of the oil pump. Could be it. The thought of taking the oil pan off makes me feel ill though. Seemed to be hard to seal the oil pans back up without them leaking. Ive never had the oil light come on. The engine seems to have a vibration to it also. Not the smooth sewing machine quality it use to have.

Frestiva, yu could probably call your insurance company and have your insurance transferred to on of your other cars temporarily that doesnt have insurance that you could drive and then have it transferred back. Just a thought

Yeah I know, vibration and tick/knock....I was thinking crank bearing/bushing. Not sure if a loose flywheel would make the tick/knocking, could I guess. Havent noticed any starting noise like with the starter engaging the flywheel. I got a B6 today so Im going to tear into the b3 to see if it's something fixable, if not, Ill put the B6 in it. Not really a pureist solution but the B3s are getting hard to find. Ive got a low mileage B3 from an aspire but Im saving it.

Redford is back. Good as new again. Swapped out the HLAs in the "rebuilt" ebay head ( see below ). The sewing machine quality is back. Purrrrrrrrr....

Now Ive got a low mileage B6 with new water pump, timing belt, valve cover gasket, etc. on my hands. I think Im going to put it in the car that I just did the wire harness swap on. Im really happy Redford is OK, I love driving it. Cleaned the engine bay and gave it a good washing. love3:

It makes me sick to think about rusting up the white one...but the red one looks great too...maybe they are rust proof!
