  • Fuel Tank Removal

    Any tips on getting this thing out? i need to remove the thing but cant get it to squeeze out between the body and rear suspension.

    any tips?

    you do know it sort of hooks over your exhaust mid-pipe?????

      When i changed mine i didn't have any problems getting passed the rear trailing arm, then again my car was on a hoist which may have helped

        yeah, ive got the back end in the air with the suspension hanging, tried to get it out by sliding it kinda to the driver side and down, but cant seem to get the clearance anywhere i go to get it all the way out!

        Its drivin me nuts lol.

          did you disconnect all of the hoses to it including the fuel filler and related hoses??????

            pretty sure, theres 4 smaller hoses on the side, 1 on the bottom, and the big one.

            fuel pump is out so that hose has been removed.

            im not perchance missing one somewhere not easily visible?

              Is the brake line out of the way? One goes over the top of the tank.
              Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.
