  • once again i need help

this has been bugging me for the past week and a half.... 3 days ago i charged my battery after i put in a new alternator and it ran fine and didnt lose power... but yesterday i was going out to walmart and i dropped in 3rd to go around a truck in the middle of the intersection and right away my lights dimmed and radio turned on and off and died when i pulled into a parking spot and had to get a jump from my friend... after i got home and charged up my battery and it runs without loosing power again

does anyone have any clue why it does this cause i'm not that good when it comes to the charging system

either a bad alternator or wires hooked up wrong. You are running on battery power only. That is why it ran fine after the battery was charged.

Is your battery good? Did you have it tested? Check your battery connections. Check your belt tension.

first buy a cheep multimeter http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,.../selectZip.htm like this one or similar. (i have a tiny pocket meter that i boght for like 10 bucks and i have my fluke 88va that cost well over 800 with all the toys i bought for it.)

with the meter you can start the car and read battery voltage at idle, and while reving.
let us know what the readings are.
bealive it or not there is something called alternator death that is caused by a vehical being started with a new alt and a mainy dead battery.
