  • Got to work this morning and....

I have coolant everywhere! Looks like its coming from all around the top of the radiator. So, is there any radiator thats better than another? If I'm going to put one in I might as well put a decent/quality one in. Anyone know the best place to get one? Or where they're the cheapest? ha

Auto festiva's have a 2 core radiator. Other than that i don't know.

Take it back to the back porch, join the 3 string revolution.

i ended up finding a used one at a JY and it has worked fine......(going on 7 months)

but others have stressed in the past to not waste money and get new... $114.89 on rockauto... if i were to get one RIGHT NOW, this is what i'd go with.

-"Hairlipstiva" 1991 GL 5spd (swapped from an auto), rolling on Enkei 14x6 +38 with 195/45/14 Toyo's, Jensen MP5720 CD deck, tach install, LED strip in cluster, down position rear wiper, FMS springs, Gabriel shocks on 4 corners, Acura Integra short shifter
-Escort GT 91 donor car with BP, G5M-R tranny to be dropped in the little guy...
      -Aspire brake swap COMPLETE!

The auto radiator will work and would be more than enough for your stock engine with 5-speed tranny. In fact, the Festiva auto trannys are more than enough for even a BP to keep cool.

The one on EBay seems alright... But if I had a junkyard near me, I'd check there first since you could probably have one for 1/4 of the cost.

I have one of those Ebay radiators, and they're pretty good quality.

I got mine at radiatorbarn.com and it works great. All metal, correct fittings, etc. Got one for my Jeep there too. $114.00 for a 91 festiva with free shipping. Sorry if I sound like a commercial.

Hmmmm, where was that? ha I looked at it last night. Front, top, to the right of the cap theres about a 3 inch crack in the plastic. I popped the hood as soon as I got home so I could try to find where it was coming from while it was hot. There were a lot of bubbles coming from that crack, ha.

Should I stay away from ones with plastic tanks? I mean the one in the car thats plastic seemed to work good for 163000 miles and 20 years, but everyone knows how stuff is built these days, ha.
