What oil are using?

Curious as to what you guys are running in your cars. I'm running the factory specified non synthetic 10w30 and getting some valve noise and thinking of running something different. I checked the search mechanism and didn't see anything there. BTW Hot Rod is running like a sewing machine now which is great.

i went to the valvoline high miles 5w-30syn blend and the tick only happens when its chilly. several people have suggested going to pennzoil platinum synthetic on bitog.com. congrats on the car running like a sewing machine...sounding like one is a bummer.

just about evey festiva I have ever has had valve noise at one point in its life. They have hydraulic lifters located in the rocker arms and the smallest amount of dirt will block them.

Sometimes they quiet up on their own, sometimes an oil additive works or some times you have to replace them. Replacing them can be done in about two hours, with practice you can do a set in thirty minutes

I usually run normal castrol 10W-30 and have always had valve noise first thing in the morning. Last change I switched to 5W-30 for the winter and even though its been cold
I've had almost no valve noise at all.

CENPECO oil only in everything i own!!
all 3 festys my 05 ford escape my powerstroke diesel i even run it in my banshee(2 stroke and crank oil) even use there bar and chain oil in my chain saw

i also use ther trans and gear lubes as well as there mega moly and rollerbearing grease.
i wouldnt use anything but cenpeco no matter what you paid me.

Im running Pennzoil 5w-30 synthetic. My car use to tick in mornings when it was chilly, but now it has to be really cold like about 15-20 for it to tick and then its only for about 30 seconds.

im running amsoil 100%synthetic high performace motor oil... its good for 25kmiles or 1 year and same with the oil filter...i use it cuz i only have 26.6k miles

I'm with you on this one,any name brand 10W30 that on sale in all the cars and my Pickup!
The Elcamino only gets Royal Purple.
The Harley gets straight 50 castro GTX.
The Gold wing gets Mobile 1 motorcycle oil!!!

I always run 5W30 + a bottle of Rislone. Usually Penzoil, but I will use other name brands as well.

I was running 10w-30 supertech. My engine has always had kind of a rattly noise to it. The last few I've been running Pennzoil High Mileage 10w-30 (non-synthetic). Doesn't the valve lash or something like that need to be adjusted on these cars fairly often? I bet thats what my noise is.
