  • About to buy a festiva but has problems with the coil??

The car drives.... but after running, it dies out. Let it sit, itll start back up, let it run, it heats up, dies again. Sound like a coil problem or could it be something else?

Also its a 1989, 171,000 miles, and its for $375, sound like a good deal? Interior is in pretty good condition.

The festiva I just bought was the exact same reason for selling.
The seller said bad coil, I took a coil and distributor with me, ended up being the distributor. (ignition module was bad)

I was going to say the same thing. It sounds more like the ignition module in the distro than the coil. However, I have seen stranger things.

i'd be betting on the coil myself, but spray the disrto (inside and out) with carb clean and let it dry out, then fire it up (with new coil, it's cheap enough), and drive away.
