  • heater blower motor

I have 93 Festiva and the heater motor has gone out. The manual shows an repair of six steps but I can't find it under the dash. Any suggestions? Also does anyone know if the Aspire motor is the same?

I don't know about the Aspire motor. But for the Festiva, it's a relatively simple, but pain-in-the-a$$ procedure. The motor is on the right of the gas pedal, approximately behind the radio. Three 8mm bolts holds it in place, plus the connector. I used my smallest ratchet with a combination of either a short 8mm socket and extension, or just a long 8mm socket, depending on the bolt I was reaching for. If you thought the fun part was lying halfway on the ground and on your car's floor reaching for the bolts, wait 'till you try to get that motor out of there...It's doable, but it's tight...
The left lane? Are you crazy!!! I never drive in the left lane...It's full of freaks driving the wrong way and charging right at you!!!
