Seems to idle fine.I just put that belt on last summer and tightened the H**l out of it.The old one use-to slip so I replaced it .A friend tightened the bolt as I held pressure on alt to tighten it up.Actually this started to happen as I was stuck in snow and was at high RPMS going back and forth.

don't run the car without the battery attached!! electrical damage may result.Trees aren't kind to me...

I'd just take your alternator to the local McAutoParts store and have them check it. If it's good, then people can begin to give you better advise. Until the foundation is proved adequate, everything else is random guessing.ENFORCER - Midwest Festiva Inc., Iowa

After driving the car...when you know it has charged...disconnec the cables from the battery and measure the voltage accross the battery. I should be 12.4 to 12.6 Volts DC. If it any lower the battery has a bad cell or is on it's way out.
If your swift with the multi meter try this....
1) car off....key out
2) Disconnect the plus(+) cable from the battery
3) put the Multi meter in DC milli-amper mode.
4) Make sure the meter probes are in the proper place....typically...the black stays in place and the red move to the amp or milli-amp port.
5) Place the red probe on the plus battery terminal
6) Place the black probe on the baterry cable you removed....DO NOT LET THE BLACK PROBE OR THE CABLE REMOVED COME IN CONTACT WITH THE CAR OR AND OTHER METAL unless you want to turn your meter into a stinger.
7) Your meter should read zero. If it does not your battery is leaking down.
All of the previous advice is very good...it should be well taken and considered.Joe Lutz
