What's that piece?

I have a few slots in my festy around the steering wheel where it looks like there would be switches of some sort in different models. I pulled the cover off of the one to the right of the steering wheel next to the rear defrost switch and there was a little white plug type thing behind it. Does anyone have any idea what this is for?

I'll try to put a pic up of it because i'm not doing a very good job at explaining it! lol
