  • Door Lock Cylinder Clips

I am trying to install a lock cylinder on the passenger side of Hot Rod. I have all the parts but the cylinder clip and I can't find one anywhere. So I have two questions: [1] Do any of you know where I can get cylinder llock clips for a Festy? [2] Once I have the clip how do I install it? I can't tell by looking at the driver's side how it is attached to the door.

    Thanks for the help guys!!

If you're talking about the little metal clip that holds the lock cylinder to the door, then it just slips into place. It's kind of "U" shaped. Put the cylinder in the door, put the clip in between the inside of the door and the "ridge" on the cylinder, and just force it down over the cylinder. Hope that makes sense...I saw two festy's at the yard today but I don't have any extra clips. If I go back tomorrow I'll pick them up and let you know

I bet a McAutoParts Store near you would have a clip that would work. Take the cylinder in, tell the acne filled faced kid what it is. He'll ask the assisatant to the assistant to the assistant manager, who'll find something that will work. Horshoe flat pice with a bow. The bow applies pressure, pulling the outside of the cylinder into the exterior sheetmetal. If you need one, send me your name and address and I'll send you one. In return, I ask that you send me one simple little piece...... a spoiler!

That cracks me up. I'm sending you a PM. I went to McAutoParts but skipped Little Acne and went straight to the assistant's assistant. The response was..."huh". So with that I'll take you up on your offer. Thanks a ton Levitan!!

Were the gears held in place with something for shipment?
