  • Will aspire fuel pump fit festiva?

Went to the junkyard today to pick up an aspire fuel pump, thinking I might be able to use it in the festy. Picked up just the pump itself, the sock(?), and the floater. Didn't get the part that it all mounts to....I was hoping I could just swap the pump into the festiva pump holder. So when I took out the festy pump it looked like poop and I realized that the aspire pump is much smaller, and won't fit in the festy pump holder. Does anyone know if the aspire pump holder will bolt into a festy tank? If not, could I swap the entire tank? Here are some pics for reference....
    Festiva pump....

Aspire pump with festy pump holder...

This is what the inside of my gas tank looks like...this is bad right?

My understanding is the three door Aspire tank and pump are interchangeable with the Festiva. The five door is suppposedly not interchangeable.

Hmmm, the pump I have in the pic is from a 3 door aspire, but it's much smaller than my festy pump. I guess I should have gotten the entire pump apparatus...my stupid mistake. I'll get up early in the morn. before work and grab it if it's still sitting where I left it. Maybe I'll just pick up the tank too.

I just bought a three door Aspire for the same reason. I am converting Silver Bullet to EFI. Well, that and the Aspire brake/suspension swap.

Actually, with the mods and adminstrators' permission, I was going to try and do a sticky on it.

After some serious searching on here and other sites I see where I made my mistake. Should have just taken the tank and the entire fuel pump assembly. Hopefully it's all still there in the morning!

I got a 3-door Aspire tank on my Festy, but had to put back the Festiva fuel pump and bracket because the plug is different. The bracket fits the same on either tank though.
The left lane? Are you crazy!!! I never drive in the left lane...It's full of freaks driving the wrong way and charging right at you!!!

Good to know! I'll definitely get the tank as long as it's in good condition, I'll probably get the bracket as well and see if I can make it work...I have an idea, so I gotta at least try it!

Couldn't get the aspire tank I wanted to get. The junkyard pokes holes in all the tanks to drain the gas! I was able to use the fuel pump and pump holder from the aspire in the festy tank though. The electrical plugs are different, but I was able to switch them. You have to bend the metal tube that holds the plug, swap plugs, then bend the tube back. Pain in the butt!
