well i'm trying to take off the drums to inspect the shoes and also take the e-brake cable out because it snapped but i can get the drum off... so does anyone have any pointers on how to get the drums off.. i've never done em on a festiva beforedrool

Just remember the right rear spindle nut is left hand thread, meaning you turn it right to loosen it, not lefty loosey. However, if you are already past that point, spray PBBlaster in the lug bolt holes and start whacking the drums with a rubber mallet. People have reported here putting the wheel back on loose and rolling the car to break the drums free. Not me, mine came off no problem.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.
