I'd been having an intermittent problem with my festiva (90L Plus auto, B3) randomly cutting out and RPMS bouncing up and down like it was hitting a fuel cut off at various engine speeds between 2K and 3.5K... I traced the problem down to either a faulty TPS or TPS plug (if I wiggle the plug enough the problem goes away. I am going to the JY saturday and they have 4 aspires there (three autos) and I was just going to grab a couple of spare sensors and plugs. I'm also going to be getting another extra one for an elderly lady I know who drives an auto festiva that is doing the same thing mine is doing, and I'm guessing it is the same problem with hers. However, when I look them up at the auto parts sites they say the festiva will interchange with the other b6s (323, old tracer) and b8/bps (proteges, egts) but not with an aspire. Anyone know for sure how accurate this info is? I'm sure I can get one of the b6/b8/bp sensors but just don't wanna get the wrong thing.

    thanks!
    No festiva for me ATM...

Maybe you can post your findings as to which ones interchange and we can sticky it in the repair forum.

the problem is that according to the festiva wiring diagrams on alldata the TPS is a swtich not an actual sensor, but interesting that the problem goes away when you jiggle it.

well I think its a 3 position switch, "closed throttle", "in between", and "wide open throttle". At closed throttle there is no problem, idles fine, its in the mid range that it acts goofy
        No festiva for me ATM...
