  • Check engine light...

    My 90 just started having check engine light on.It goes off in a few minutes.I notice no difference in its operation,but,it has never come on before.I am sure it is nothing major,but...?

    I say check the fluid levels, just to be sure...but I hear that that happens sometimes.

      I am not as familiar with OBD I as I am with OBD II. You will have to check the codes by jumpering terminals. I know there are a couple links on here about that.

        it by the drivers side shock tower. I'd say if there is affect in performance it maybe a evap code, oxygen sensor, or something of the sort.

          Had the same problem ('90 Festy, 5spd, 175Kmiles at the time). Oh, but my car just quit and couldn't get to start up again. My trusted mechanic, when I cannot fix it, check it out and replaced the far left side, while facing the engine from the outside, of the three to choose from, was burnt out. He replaced it and everything continued to run fine.
          Napa Auto parts has this "fusible link" wire in what ever amperage you need; I've bought some just in case for the next time. Oh, and get a wire crimper tool with whatever end pieces you need to make it just like the other ones end pieces.
