The oil had gas in it because the carb was tottaly flooded from the former owner pumping the F out of the gas pedal in a very sad attempt to start the festy. so what I am thinking is that the oil was thinned by the gas+the car was hot which further thinned the oil. and it just was seeping past all the seals cause it was so thin. my plan is to change the oil and see if the problem persist's

has this happened to anyone else? more importantly does anyone know how to fix it?
You drove this car knowing it was 1-2 qts overfilled? And without coolant? You probably blew a leak in every seal of tht engine...might as well change the valce cover gasket, oil pan gasket. Wrap the distributor PUT the air cleaner assembly back on and degrease and power wash that engine. Do and oil change in the process, don't reuse the oil and fill it to the manufactures specifications...

Well just an up date I got it ready the night before the autocross. I raced it at the autocross yesterday and it ran great but... The clutch is completly toast so now I am debating weather or not to replace the clutch or just plow head first into an engine swap?the clutch is about $100 give or take. I think I can get the sephia's engine in the festy for a little over $300 but the festy does have some pretty bad frame damage(nothing that effects how the car drives just the front bumper will never be quite right again). So should I replace the clutch and sell the festy and find a staight F.I. Festy? Or just continue with the festiva that I have?

Thats some huevos. Not knowing if there is any damage and he goes and races the bugger. The carbed b6 engine swap and stage 1 clutch would be a great car.

Can you imagine getting beat up at the auto-x event for putting oil everywhere?

you should have seen every ones faces after my first run. the festy had smoke shooting from everywhere it was just excess oil from the previous incident. the track workers thought I had shot oil every where. But I didn't and it was raining anyway I ran a 56.xxx the fastest lap of the day was a 46.xxx but I was not driving the car as good as I could have and the clutch was almost not there I think if the festy had a good clutch and I was more familiar with it it had a 52 in it easy
