  • jumper the fuel pump

95 aspire- need to jumper the fuel pump at the tank in order to drain the tank.
anyone have a schematic of the fuel pump leads?

It's aspire and not what you wrote. Please watch the language. Admin (mattswabb)

Can't you just turn the ignition switch to the "on" position and engage the pump?

Also, the festiva's have a drain bolt, I would think the aspires would as well.

I don't think the pump will run or stay running in the "on" position.

you have three options 1. cycle the key on and off to keep the pump running (takes very long) 2. Jump the pump from the wiring harness at the tank 3. easiest method is to use a jumper wire at the relay.

or do it using a midnight auto card. Put a small hose in tank filler and siphon it into a gas can. Just make sure hose is long enough for u to suck and not get mouthfull of gas, it sucks.

Yeah, I don't understand. It should have a drain bolt right? I know the 2 door aspire uses the same tank as the festy, so I would think the 4 door would have a drain bolt too. Which do you have?

Not possible, pretty sure Aspires have anti-siphon valve in fill tube, Festiva's do.

aspires will not cycle fuel pump untill RPM signal is present. you must jump the relay, or use the drain plug.

                        i.e. 95 tukhescombustion.

using the diagnostics connector under the hood i jumpered the fuel pump pin to the gnd pin, turned on the ignition, and the pump ran.
