Finally decided to get off of my cheap butt and set the timing on the 94 aspire I just put the new motor in. No auto parts stores in this area has timing lights, neither does cummins, harbor frieght has really cheapy one. Sears is where I finally had to go to get one. I got the cheapest one, Actron, figured I won't be using it no more than a few times in 5 years. Several places wanted 60 bucks to do it, I was laughing on the way out. Anyways when I installed the motor I sorta banged up the crank pulley and that didn't help setting the timing one bit. I couldn't tell where the hash mark was at first, finally on a hunch I tried one reflection, I think I got it somewhere between 8-10BTDC according to the gauge on the timing belt cover. Finally it has some power, timing seriously effects these small engines. Now I have to figure out why it cuts out and set the idle speed.
