  • Aspire acting super weird

Ok, so a few nights ago when I was trying to accelerate, I noticed the engine was kinda skipping out a little bit. My girlfriend wasn't able to feel the difference (probably because she doesn't drive my car), but it was there and it worried me. Well that got very bad, very quick.

So when I step on the gas, the car wants to stall but doesn't. But I can ease on the gas and it revs up just fine.
I've already checked my air filter, that's clean, I replaced my fuel filter, that was a bit dirty, didn't help any. Right now I'm waiting for the engine to cool off more so I can check the plugs without burning myself.
and I also started to use injector cleaner on it too... so if any of those aren't the problems, what could it be????

I have a rather simple video I just made today if any of you want to see exactly what the car is doing let me know

(edit.... My writing skills suck lately.)
I could bore you with a philosophical tirade about freedom and tyranny, or try and explain to you what new horizons are suddenly open to me, but I doubt you would understand and if you did it might frighten you. That amuses me.

Wires, rotor, and cap. These are some of the main things that will cause the problems your having especially if the weather is damp or raining. Check the wires and pull the cap and look for wear on the rotor and the cap.

When my timing was off it was doing that. Most likely a spark plug wire or spark plug. When was the those and the cap and rotor replaced last?

Those were replaced about 4 months ago, and have roughly 5000 miles on them... the engine is still warm,I have yet to check the plugs

Ok so after checking my plugs and wires, cap, rotor and ran the injector cleaner I still have a major problem. so I took it to the shop and they say the problem is a Throttle position sensor and that will cost around $263 to get the part... now that's worse than getting personally ass-violated by the entire internal revenue service every April 15. just for a part that takes less than 10 mins to remove and install

no junk yards open this late at night, it's almost tempting to yank one from another aspire in town haha
I took it out tonight (from my car don't worry) and looked it over and I noticed oil in it. Is is possible oil could have caused it to fail?
and how could oil get there in the first place?

Here's a question, if the throttle position sensor is working properly and I take it off but not disconnect from the computer then fiddle with the position of it, will the car try to do something to show me it's working properly?

I did try this and nothing happened, but I don't know if it's working or not, and I did yank a sensor from another aspire and did the same thing and nothing happened... Help??
