  • timing belt off for head gasket change?

hey i've got the car ready for head gasket time, but i'm at the timing belt and i would really rather not take off the crank sprocket (mine's got that big washer covering the belt) can i just slide it off the cam after loosening the tensioner w/o damaging the belt? it's a couple month old belt so... cheers

Yes....be advised...ther is enough clearance on the around the bootm for the belt to become disengaged and re-engage off by a tooth. I'm not sure how you are going to mark the timming but be advised of this scenario.
