yes, because mine came from an 1988 LX

and all the intermittent wipers are composed of is a switch module on the control stalk

A white stalk wont fit on an orange combo switch. Its a different set up. So stick with an orange stalk .

and just why not? other than the steering wheel spacing? i see no differance between he orange and white stalks. (not giving attitude, just curoius)

Tore apart an orange setup I had sitting around and swapped in the white stalk....works fine and went together without any problems. Not sure if this is what you meant Fresh.
