brake lights

ok so my break lights do not work and i dont know why because my turn signals work with my lights on and off and my lights work fine except my break lights dont turn on and my back up lights work
aren't the tail light(the one that comes on when you turn your lights on) and your break lights the same bulb. so how come my lights work when i turn them on but my break lights never work?

Stop/Tail lamps have two separate filaments inside one globe. The Tail lamps work off of one circuit, while the Stop (Brake) lamps work on a separate circuit. You could have a blown Stop lamp fuse, a bad stop lamp switch, or a wiring issue. Actually, thinking about it, its very possible that both stop filaments are burned out. So don't forget to check the bulbs!

Brake lights

On mine just my brake lights quit working also.It was just the connector came lose from the switch.It is just above the brake pedal up under the dash.Fred.

I had the brake lights quit working on my yellow car. I have installed a 130db Italian air horn on it and one night I used it and it stopped working. I thought, no biggie, I'll check it out one day.... well, I found out it blew a fuse, and that fuse was a shared fuse... with... yep. Brake lights! I'd had been driving for three days with no brake lights.
