Wait a sec... all of these "direct replacements", including the $34 special, have the hangers in the correct positions? No welding required?

Don't forget to wear earplugs when doing muffler work under a car!!!

Ever had hot slag in your ear canal?
Aspires and Sways all around, Miata B6 installed, KYB G2Rs just installed in front. Wish for coil overs someday.

FWIW: here is the info on the $27 muffler from Advance Auto. I am having them "order" one at the local store, and it'll be here tomorrow.

Unfortunately, my experience with rusty exhaust components has been that it takes quite a bit longer than it should and I end up using a torch and a big hammer. What should take an hour takes three a lot of times because of rust and doing it in the driveway.

I just installed the $27 Advance Auto special... they had it in stock in town! Super easy to install. The two bolts were a bit reluctant to come out, but a little penetrating oil and two 14mm wrenches and I was in like Flynn! All of the hangers matched up perfectly. YAY!

My old muffler was nothing but a big pile of rust held together by thin shell of rust. The "in" side pipe fell right off, and I could poke my finger through the front and back ends with little difficulty.

anybody know a good place to get a good price on complete exhaust - mine is a bunch of pipes welded together with what looks like a cherry bomb in the middle, a little to loud for me - just doesn't sound like my V8

If you wanted a complete exhaust I would suggest taking it to a muffler shop... I knew the guy at our local shop and he sold me the a complete exhaust and let me do the labor cause I wanted to get some welding experience and it ended up costing me $160, but I've had it done before letting him do it and since its such a small car it cost me like $210 and it took only 3 hours.
