is the 1989 a fuel injected or carbed?
is there a easy way to id the carbed by vin?

i believe the '89 LX was injected only , the L's were carbed. i do not know about California models.

mechanicaldj is close, but not quite there. Now if you were asking 4-speed vs. 5 speed...

Automatic transmission = fuel injected
Manual transmission = carbureted

this is for 1989 model year only, btw

Its simple

88= all carbed
89 = 4 and 5 speed manual carbed
89 = automatic injected
90-93 5-speed and automatic all injected
