  • blown head gasket!??

so i just got back from running an auto-x event, i noticed oil undermy car after my second run, i looked under the hood and oil was EVERYWHERE!!!!!
i decided to keep running it. i figured that the crankcase pressure was just to much due to the constant hi-revs. by my fourth lap my car was smoking(moisture) out the exhaust. so why would my head gasket all the sudden decide to fail??? btw it was blowing oil out of my breather tube that goes to the intake pipe, but i have a small aftermarket breather on it. and it only blows oil out on the down rev not when reving up?? do you think its the head gasket??

If the oil looks like chocolate milk and its also in the radiator, then yes it is the head gasket.

Ford Cleveland v8s had similar problems when used for racing. The top end gets too much oil, especially at sustained high rpms. It then pushes out of the vent and into the intake. Not that this is your problem, but it's a possibility.

my truck has a 1981 400ci and i pluged off one of the breathers and it blew out both valve cover gaskets, i coudint believe how much crankcase pressure it makes. but my car seems to have way too much oil on the top end.

I think it's time for a compression check.

a compression check usually does not reveal bad oil control rings

and a head gasket can blow to the oil passage(but then so can a warped head or cracked head/block)
