Looking inside my engine and at the repair manual, I realize that my rocker arms are apparently unadjustable, I was told by a relative, who works at my local parts store that one of two places that they can get parts doesn't offer the rocker arms, I've read through part of this Fourum and looked for the answer, as I don't want to 1.) give up the car, 2.) put it away with the rest of my junk. at this point I'm just baffled at this why the carburetored engines were adjustable and the Fuelies weren't, then again I'm new at the minicar world, I have a feeling I'm just misunderstanding this. Could someone with more mini car knowledge help me out on this one

Rocker Arm Woes

The rocker arms do not go bad unless they suffer something catostrophic.
The end of the rocker the contacts the valve has and internal piece that is replacable...the Hydraulic Lash Adjuster...HLA.
The HLA's are redily available at many parts store are are easily replaced.
The HLA is a superior design to the previous...there is no loss of contact or subsequent impact as in the adjustable version.
A couple of years ago I developed a valve tap...tooke the rocker assembly out and found a burr inside the rocker arm bore at the oil port..I small piec of metal had passed thru the oil port and got galled over. I was able to pick it out and stone it smooth.
Make sure if you take the rocker arm assembly apart...all of the parts are put back into theor original location.Joe Lutz
