  • Need calif approved cat

    Like the Title says, I need to buy a new cat for a 1992 festiva.
    car failed smog, I did an on line check I found nothing approved for calif.
    any one know who sells california approved parts.

    there's no such thing, they are all the same part #. cali cars for that year are fed cars. Cali didn't start that crap untill OBDII was in force.
    Trees aren't kind to me...

    currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),

      so then there is no choice and purchase a third party cat.
      ford no longer sells the o2 sensor or the cat.

      has any one esle have this issue?

        i saw two on ebay that said CA approved. What were those for??? There's a magniflow on page 3.

            well purchased & replaced the following
            O2 sensor
            spark plugs (one higher range hotter plugs)
            oil change
            I tried to adjust the timing,by Loosened the 12 mm bolt & moving it.
            but the distributor seemed to be stuck

            waitng for the air & fuel filter
            will purchase a cat from a freind.

                    distro is held in with 2 bolts, there is one hiding under the distro.

                      yeah, take the second (bottom) bolt out and throw it away, i dont understand why they thought you need two bolts for the dist.
