  • What cause fuel smell inside the car?

My 98 festiva started to smell like fuel inside the passenger room
No visible leaking underneath the car.
I guess the smell only comes when I park it not while I'm driving.
Please give me some advise about what can cause this problem?
    Thanks heaps

List your location in your signature, maybe someone on here lives close and can help. I suggest your check the fuel line from the pump to the carb. The gas tank is behind the rear seat under the car. Access to the pump is under the carpet after you tilt the rear seat forward.

On my Buick, it was a leaking gas tank. Really small leak. You could only smell gas when the car sat for a while.

He's from overseas I'd imagine...it's an aspire. And your problem is probably a pinhole in the rubber tube that goes fromthe gastank to the filler neck. Or maybe it is a fuel pump gasket like Levitan said.
