Half Tank Problem

Hi guys,

For some reason my Festy can only use half of my gas tank. As soon as the gas gauge drops to the half way point my Festy starts running out of gas. It's as if it can't access the bottom half of the tank.

At first I thought mit might be the sender or sensor or whatever but I can only put about 20L of gas in when I fill up before it clicks off. If I"m not mistaken the Festies have around a 40L tank. Theres still 20L of gas sitting there but the car acts as if its running out of gas.

Any ideas how to fix this?

first check if the gas tank has buckled or collapsed due to a malfunctioning gas cap or evaporative fuel control system has stopped working.

and has not collapsed, pull the sender unit from under the back seat cover and check for a bad fuel line from the sock to the top of the sender unit (carburetor) and from the sock to the pump(fuel injected)
