does any one know how to get the stock festiva shifter out of the socket?
i bought a new short throw for it and bushings and i cant get the old shifter out? help

There is a coiled spring holding it in there...can't miss it. Upon re-install you'll have to cut some length off of the spring.

yep, take a screw driver end to compress one end, then pry up and out.... kind of a messy little feller to (or should be) with the grease.

It comes out through the top. Which shifter did you buy?

Cool I run that shifter in both my cars. You will need a different bolt for the linkage.

i have a short shifter (99-01 integra) and the pivot ball on the shifter is bigger than stock... so i had to cut that spring to be pretty much a "C" for it to fit.

The bolt that came with it is probably to short. You will also need some small washers or spacer because the shift arm/inkage is wider than the end of the short shifter. As for cutting the spring I only had to cut one coil off to get it to fit. Cut the spring off the bottom leaving the straight part that hooks under the lip. You should only cut off as little as you need to get it to fit. It should only take 15min or so to do it.

                          the new shifter and boot

it is really tight and smooth i had to cut the spring like 1 1/2 coils out of it to get it to fit
                          sorry it was sideways

yeah it feels just as short of throws as my gf's brothers egt he put a b&m civic short throw shifter in and spent 125 bucks on it and i got mine from ebay for 20 with free shipping and i think he should have went cheap and he wouldn't have had to pay for the name
