  • 93 BP Festiva does not starts

Today I have try to take my festiva for the first time since October. I try to start it and the engine rotate but will not start. I have look with a test light if I had power on the coil and yes I have power on both wire from the coil but I've got no spark. What do you guy think is my problem ?

So, you have spark at the coil and off the plug that connects to the distributer? Do you have spark at any of the plug wires?

Maybe the distributer cap and rotor need replaced? New plug wires? Or, maybe the distributer itself?

are you sure you don't have spark? are you sure you have fuel pressure?

At one time my BP wouldn't start for me, it turned out to be the fuel pump relay

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I've got no spark from the coil wire but I've got power to the coil. I have brand new plug wire. Yeah maybe the distributer. I will try to find one in my part car and try it tomorrow.

Where is the fuel pump relay?

one of the wires on the coil should flash to ground when you crank it, firing the coil. try reading the codes???

The humble coil, check the primary winding with an ohm meter and make sure you have a circuit, basically what happens is current is supplied to the primary winding and when the coil is switched off the magnetic field collapses and induces a high voltage in the secondary winding giving the high energy spark, coils can also be a problem and you may need to replace it, the centre post should also give an ohm reading to the smaller connector terminals.....good luck I miss the old points ignition systems and the culprit used to be the condenser inside the dizzy, but alas we now have electronics
