  • I have a problem with the fuel. At nearly a little less than 1/2 and 1/4 tank gas

    Hi

I have a 1995 Kia Pride 1.3 efi with a b3 engine. I have a problem with the fuel. At nearly a little less than 1/2 and 1/4 tank gas, the engine feels like missing if I try to accelerate hard. It starts missing much more at corners especially when I turn right. Any help please?

    Thanks

well i think i may know why it's doing it when you turn right i think the fuel pickup is on the right side of the tank so when you turn right the fuel goes to the left side of the tank and does not get what it wants.. i may be wrong tho and I'm not pretty sure why it's fumbling maybe some contaminates in your fuel tank...had that happen to me.. I'm not sure if you have it where your at but try seafoam.. it fixed my problem...also might want to put your location in your profile might have some members near you..

goth I think is right. Also the sock that covers your pick up tube could need to be replaced if it has started to get clogged. Possibly have a small hole in your pickup too.

No possibly about it, it's something to do with fuel pick up

I do not think the pick is to either side. I think it is in the center of the tank right where the pump is mounted.
But I agree it could be a clogged filter sock. Also could be a weak pump....when you get on it at take off it needs more fuel and may not be providing enough.

I fount the problem. It was the pickup screen for 2 reasons. 1 It was dirty. 2 I t was looking to the right side so, when I turn to the right the fuel gets all the way to the other side. Now I removed the pickup screen filter and lowered the pump to the bottom as possible so it could pickup fuel to the last bit. I have the other filter in the engine bay so no problem for dirt.
