I put an Aspire brake swap on my b6 car and the brakes are spongy. If you have to stop hard the pedal goes way down and the braking action is weak. The stock set up stops a lot harder. Ive bled the brakes several times and Im not getting any air out of the system. Im real confident Ive got all the air out. All I get is clean fuild coming out. All corners are working they are just soft. Do I need to put the aspire master cylinder on or does anyone know what the problem might be ? Ive got new everything including rotors, pads. shoes, lines, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, etc. Ive got the best I could buy too.

Marcus did you bleed the longest line first and work to the shortest? It took me awhile to bleed out my aspire swap when i first installed it. I used the 323 M/C and festiva booster.---------------------------------------------------

Yeah right rear, left rear left , right front , left front. A couple more questions, will the aspire cylinder fit on the festiva booster ? Does anyone know if the bore is the same on the aspire and festiva MC ?sigpic

try bleeding the master cylinder then rebleed your brakes, most master cylinders once you have air in the pistons it will not bleed out through the brakes

make sure the m/c is bled
Do it in the car and not in a vise as in the article. Then re-bleed the brakes. How are your rear brakes? Are the adjusters working? If the shoes are too far from the drums and need to travel far this could make the system feel soft.

Im not a brake expert but I redid the rear brakes. New shoes, new wheel cylinders, new brake lines. Ive deal with those darn self adjusters before. I took them off and greased them good. It all seems to be working good. When its up in the air all four wheels seem to have equal braking just weak. Today I got it to lock up but the pedal still had to much travel and was soft. I dont think the stock M/C has enough volume to work the brakes properly.sigpic

I have had two aspire swaps that are spongy (white one and orange one) and one that stops so hard I thought I was going to loose my fillings (they all have the stock MC I believe.) I have never tried the mc bleed though, I will!
