  • Carb help 88 lx b3

I managed to get my pooooooorly maintained festiva running. my question is about the second barrel. from what i understand the second barrel opens up when the gas gets stomped on... is this right? I dont see any vac. lines or any electrical. The only thing i see is that it is operated by a diaphram, and that seems to bolt onto the carb. Is this somehow operated by how much air is going into the carb? It doesnt seem to open at all unless i stick a screw driver to open the butterfly . Is there some linake missing? I am pretty much clueless i think. Any ideas?

    thanks

all the passages are internal to the housing. you must have less than 4" of vac and have sufficient airflow across the diaphram housing to open the secondary. usually this won't happen till after 4000 rpm. to test, use 3rd gear and start at 2500 rpm steady, then give it the beans! you should feel a push around 4.
