  • Kia pride. How to remove the front wheel bearing

    Hi

I have a 1995 Kia Pride & I want to know how to remove the front wheel bearing. I have removed the wheel assembly from the car but I can't remove the bearing, not even the disc. I don't know how. Here is a photo of my wheel. Please can someone tell me how to do it?

    Thanks

Assuming you have it off the car...no axel, no caliper. Remove the inner wheel bearing seal and hit the back side of the rotor with a 3lb hammer. After it is somewhat loose take the spindle and support it on something so the rotor/hub is suspended off of the ground. Take a socket of the same diameter and place3 it ont he end of the hub. Smack with hammer.

This should be your end results after removing the rotor that is bolted from the back.

Thanks very much. You've been very helpful. But how do I know if the wheel bearing is bad? It doesn't have any play.

you you can not take the wheel and move it in a in and out motion then they probably are not bad.

          I was in Malta recently.

I saw quite a few old motors, but not nearly as many as I'd been led to expect.

I assume it's something to do with EEC conformity.

I did see quite a few wrecks on trucks heading towards Gozo.
