  • I have noticed a rattling and shuddering from the left wheel

    Hi

I have a 1995 Kia Pride. I have noticed a rattling and shuddering from the left wheel when I take off from a stand still and even when moving around in 2nd gear pull. All ball joints seems fine and the CV joint is fine too. The wheel bearing is fine too because it has no wheel play. But I have some wheel play & it's coming from the steering rack. Could it be the problem?

    Thanks

outer tie rod or inner tie rods can be the problem

raise the wheel off the ground and turn the wheel left and right
any play can be felt in the outer tie rod socket at the spindle or in the inner tie rod pivot inside the boot at the steering rack

    I am the original

I tried that. the play is coming from the steering rack. I have removed it and inspected it and it have a little play but nothing broken.

Lift one front wheel at a time...hold ethe lifted tire at the 3 and 9 o'clock position. Push with one hand and pul with the other...reverse direction repeatedly.

Same test for the other front tire.

If one of the wheels has some play and not the other...it's tie rods

If both wheels have some play...its either the rack...or bad tie rod ens on both ends or both.

My point..it's pretty unlikely that a bad rach would create a proble with one wheel.
