Car is getting tinted in a couple weeks, and to make life easier for the tinter, I want to take out my rear glass which has old, purple tint on it and swap it for a set of windows that have no tint. I cant figure out how to remove the glass though. Anyone here know how?

Done that
Its still good to have a tool to slide along and curl the rubber out of the way as you push.
I just did that two days ago. I used my blue point trim remover tool instead. The hard thind is getting it started. The rubber doesn't really want to bend in the corner. I used a couple of screwdrivers to hold each side of the corner rubber away and then used my trim remover to roll the corner rubber up while pushing. It's kind of like surgery. You have to have patience and a lot of feel. Then work your way along both sides until you can pull the glass out from the remaining two sides.

Use a hose removal tool AKA "hook tool" for a glassman. Sit in the hatch area with it closed put your foot in one upper corner and apply an adequate amount of pressure. Take the hook toll and slide it into the rubber on top where it wraps around the pinchweld ann slide it towards the corner. Doing that while appling pressure is the best way to start to remove the glass. After a corner is free, the rest is easy.
Installation: Remove the third brake light if you feel the need...easier for a first timmer for installing that particular glass. Take a piece of 3/16" nylon rope and put it in where the metal pinchweld would sit. Tape the excess rope to the inside of the glass, cram the bottom of the glass down on the pinchweld. Get in side and pull the rope always at a 90 degree angle keeping around hand close to the glass, if you put the rope out towards you away from the glass you risk the chance of ripping the rubber gasket.---------------------------------------------------

That is an entirely different proposition. Remove the three screws, two under the hinge covers and one under the latch cover. Remember how it all comes apart because it goes back in a specific way. It helps to have someone help you when reinstalling.sigpic
