i think that it would be a carbon canister, needed for emissions...... i think..... i dont know. here in Wyoming emissions are not tested, so out with the old!!
BIn the 90's we had Clinton in office. We also had Bob Hope and Johnny Cash. Now we have Obama in office and we have no Hope and no Cash.

Yes, that's the charcoal canister. When you shut off the engine gas vapours still rise into the atmosphere so the government dictates that they be captured and saved in the charcoal canister until the next time you start the engine when they are sucked out of the canister into the engine by the engine vacuum and burned.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.
