Problem with car! HELP!

The recommending of distributors, vac leaks, intake gaskets, tune parts etc for a car that won't turn over intermittently.

He said he can push start it and it runs and drives fine.

Yes some of this may have to do with the intermittent check engine light but that WILL NOT help him if the car won't even crank over, his original issue got side tracked with the check engine light answer.

Take your own advice and read my whole post. I said I was "not much of a mechanic but others on here are very good." I was simply trying to help a guy out based on my limited experience. I may not know much about cars but there is absolutely no problem with making suggestions which is the purpose of this forum. No need for the attitude.
